Our Massage Therapist

Kim Beede graduated from the American Institute of Massage Therapy in Walnut Creek, CA, in 1993. At the time of the school, the owner (and teacher) was Nancy Burr, a wonderfully talented blinded woman who taught her student how she sees through massage. Massaging techniques were taught by being blindfolded so that the student could not look at what they were massaging. This enabled the students to feel the muscles they were massaging, not allowing the "sight" to get in the way. To this day, Kim still practices this technique by not looking at the massages' muscles, therefore giving a more productive massage. Kim started massaging at Accents in August 1995. In October 1999, Kim moved out of state for a couple of years. Since she moved back, she has been at Accents since October 2002. Kim's specialty is Swedish massage as well as deep tissue. Massage Therapy is becoming a way of life for many people. Massage therapy not only relieves stress but also improves circulation, skim, and muscle tone. It gives more energy and helps people to be more "in touch" with themselves. Make massage a part of your monthly routine, and your body will thank you for it.
